Haunted Corn Mazes in Alabama

It seems plainly impossible that the sequence of turns that you just made led you back to the middle of the maze. The cornstalks that surround you are too tall to see beyond and every path looks identical to the previous one. As the sun sets and darkness descends on Alabama's fields, local rumors include everything from demonic clowns to machete-wielding psychopaths heading into the mazes in search of their next victims. As such, the realization that you are completely lost begins to make your situation take on a new sense of urgency. Taking a few deep breaths, you regain your composure and set off in a new direction. But, after taking only a few steps, you hear the crunching of leaves coming from the distance. Your first thought is that it may be someone who can help you navigate through the maze. But as the footsteps grow louder, become more rapid, and are accompanied by a nonhuman grunting, you set off running in sheer panic.
